About Whelan Richard
Richard Whelan is a medical herbalist who has practised in Christchurch since 1989 and works from Holly Rd Medical Herbalists in St Albans. The site says he holds a Diploma in Medical Herbalism and is a registered member of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists and the American Herbalists Guild. His daughter Danielle Whelan, also a medical herbalist, provides follow-up appointments. A first visit covers your history, pulse and tongue assessment and other in-clinic tests, then a plan using herbal extracts, teas, decoctions and selected supplements made or dispensed in the clinic. He says he keeps fees modest so people from all walks of life can attend, and the clinic is often booked a month ahead. The site also holds an extensive A-Z of herbs, conditions and articles. Appointments are in person, Monday to Thursday.
